The International Lichen Planus Support Group

Lichen planus is a chronic inflammatory condition that touches every aspect of life — and yet, for many who live with it, finding reliable information and genuine understanding can feel isolating. The International Lichen Planus Support Group was founded to change that. We are a worldwide community of patients, family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals united by a shared purpose: ensuring that no one faces this diagnosis without support, guidance, and connection.

 

What We Do

• Participants receive information about the disease/disorder through educational materials and interaction with patients and experts knowledgeable about the disease state.
• Support groups share information with others in the group and develop an understanding of each patient they meet.
• Support groups share educational information and support world-wide with groups who have similar characteristics and concerns.
• Established support groups serve as a central resource for the families, patients and practitioners.
• An established support group is concerned with sharing information and current research efforts worldwide.
• Periodic guests who are knowledgeable in lichen planus provide current information, treatment modalities and opinions on patient care.
• There is a psychological and social connection that is established with the patients, the caregivers, along with the medical and dental community.
• The focus of support groups allows a range of not only current educational material but also the sharing of medical, dental, and  nutritional information.
• Support groups assess and distribute current and newly developed treatment options.
• The members ask questions and consider various options individually through contact with other members and those who provide treatment.
